CASS C-SHAPED POSTS

CASS assists in re-directing errant vehicles that would otherwise traverse the median of a roadway. The unique post employs a proprietary wave-shaped slot, which works in tandem with strategically positioned cables to increase the system’s ability to restrain a variety of vehicles that impact the system within the criteria of the NCHRP Report 350.

CASS TL-3 and TL-4

The CASS™ system is a 4-Cable Barrier System that can be used as a Test Level 3 system on 4:1 (1:4) or flatter slopes and as a Test Level 4 System on 6:1(1:6) or flatter slopes. The CASS™ system consists of Steel Yielding Cable Posts (SYCP™) and four pre-stretched 3/4” (19mm) cables or four standard 3/4” (19mm) cables. The posts can be driven, placed in a driven sleeve, placed in a sleeve and concrete footing, or base plated. The CASS cable guardrail system is NCHRP 350 TL-3 & TL-4 compliant and is also available as three cable system.

GIBRALTAR CABLE CARRIER

Gibraltar high tension cable barriers are designed to contain and redirect errant vehicles from road hazards.  Gibraltar offers both a Test Level 3 (TL-3) and Test Level 4 (TL-4) cable barrier accepted by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) NCHRP Report 350.

Full-scale vehicle crash/impact testing has been completed to evaluate the safety performance of our TL-3, TL-4 and TL-4 (4 Cable) longitudinal cable barrier. All testing procedures were conducted as prescribed by the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) Report 350, Recommended Procedures for the Safety Performance Evaluation of Highway Features. The appraisal factors for evaluating crash test performance are structural adequacy, occupant risk and after-collision vehicle trajectory. A test level is defined by impact conditions (speed, approach angle and vehicle type).
